New Role, Growing Bump: My Next Chapter in Golf

This week comes with some exciting news: I’ve got a second job! Sixteen weeks pregnant and starting a second job, because why not keep life interesting?
Stepping into a new role at Gaudet Luce Golf Club, and I couldn’t be more excited to combine my love for golf with helping others discover the game.
I’ve officially joined the team at Gaudet Luce Golf Club as their Golf Coordinator. My mission? To get more people into golf and run their fantastic, already successful, “Swing into Golf” programme.
If you’re wondering how (and why) I’m taking this on while pregnant, the answer is simple: I love golf. I love playing it, talking about it, and most importantly getting others involved in the sport. When the owner of Gaudet approached me about joining the team, he was looking for someone with experience in hosting, organising, and running events. Someone who could bring people together, create a welcoming atmosphere, and help beginners, especially women, feel confident enough to give golf a try. Then continue to be part of the sport and enjoy everything Gaudet has to offer…and it’s a lot! More than just a normal club.
Gaudet is a forward-thinking, friendly club that’s committed to growing the game. After some thought and a good logistical check of my time and energy I realised I could absolutely take on this role on a part-time basis with limited hours each week. I’ll still be coaching beginners as part of Stage 1 in the “Swing into Golf” journey, which means I get to be right there at the start when someone first picks up a club.
Life at 16 Weeks Pregnant
Oh, and I’m now 16 weeks pregnant, the bump is definitely making its presence known. Every week I’m noticing little changes: my clothes fit differently, my swing feels slightly altered, and my balance sometimes has a mind of its own.
The second trimester so far has been surprisingly kind to me (touch wood). My energy is now better than it was in the early weeks, and I’m still playing good golf. My body is growing, stretching, and adapting in ways I’ve never experienced before. My ribcage feels wider, I’m more aware of my posture, and I’m slowly learning to listen to my body, whether it’s resting more, taking out some extra water and snacks, or just a slower pace on the course.
It’s an interesting challenge to combine pregnancy with playing golf, I'm so thankful I get to still play. I feel proud to show that you can still be part of the game, make an impact, and keep chasing your passions even while growing a tiny human.
So here’s to new beginnings, both in my career and my family life. Exciting times ahead, and I can’t wait to share the journey.
